Although many people have always found clowns to have a dark and frightening side to them, the image of the scary clown was solidified thanks to the 1986 Stephen King Novel “It”, featuring a frightening clown named Pennywise. Today creepy clown costumes are a favorite for Halloween, and the character has been used in many horror films and novels. The mix between colorful, happy makeup and the hidden person within the costume is a perfect blend for a creepy twist.
Creepy clown costumes for children include the Joker Jack costume featuring a jumpsuit and scary clown mask, or the Gruesome Giggles costume with a hoodie and half mask.
