Pinocchio originated in 1883 from the mind of author, Carlo Collodi, in his fictional fairytale The Adventures of Pinocchio. It wasn’t until many years later that Pinocchio gained notoriety with the release of Disney’s Animated movie named after the little wooden puppet. Carved in a little Italian woodshop by an old gentleman named Geppetto, Pinocchio is known for his abnormal nose, which is said to grow noticeably in length every time he tells a lie.
This Pinocchio costume accessory features a long light skinned prosthetic nose made of a durable latex material. The nose can be attached using spirit gum, or additional latex. While this Pinocchio nose is popular used with the original costume, many have enjoyed incorporating it into politically satirical costumes, or celebrity costumes, especially when that individual has recently been caught in a scandal involving lying.
