A long running and highly popular television series, The Love Boat ran from 1977-1986, taking viewers on board the cruise ship Pacific Princess for a weekly foray into romance and comedy. The adventures of the crew members including Captain Merrill Stubing and Cruise Director Julie McCoy joined with the passengers of the boat for amusing storylines. The uniformed crew of the ship became famous characters in their own right, and The Love Boat costumes are favorites with the loyal fan base of the show.
